Descendants: The Rise of Red Official Title and Release Date Announced

The Fourth Installment of the Musical Fantasy Saga

Walt Disney Pictures has officially revealed the title and release date for the fourth installment in the beloved "Descendants" franchise. "Descendants: The Rise of Red" is set to hit theaters on March 21, 2023.

The film will once again follow the adventures of the children of iconic Disney villains. This time around, the focus will be on Chloe, Cinderella's daughter, played by newcomer Malia Baker. Chloe will form an unlikely friendship with Red, the Queen of Hearts, played by an actress yet to be announced.

Returning cast members include Dove Cameron as Mal, Sofia Carson as Evie, Cameron Boyce as Carlos, and Booboo Stewart as Jay. The film will also feature a new villain played by Cheyenne Jackson.

Jennifer Phang, known for her work on "Advantageous" and "Half-Life," will direct "Descendants: The Rise of Red." The screenplay was written by Maya Goldsmith and Jenny Bicks. The film will be produced by Adam Shankman and Lynn Harris.
